Compare Two IVF Treatment Plans: A Side-by-Side Method That Actually Works
Normalize medication, fertilization, embryo testing, freezing, transfer and travel before deciding which Medellín IVF quote is cheaper.
First make the medical plans equivalent
If one clinic recommends conventional IVF and another recommends ICSI plus PGT-A and freeze-all, you do not have two prices for the same treatment. You have two different medical plans.
Before comparing totals, ask each physician to explain the reason for the proposed path. If recommendations differ materially, consider a second clinical opinion before turning the disagreement into a shopping exercise.
Then normalize the cost categories
Put both quotes into the same rows: consultation/testing, stimulation medication, monitoring, retrieval, anesthesia, IVF/ICSI, culture, biopsy, genetic testing, freezing, storage, fresh transfer or FET, donor services if applicable, and follow-up.
Mark each row Included, Extra, Not stated or Not applicable. That exposes the real reason one headline number is lower.
Add travel as a separate budget
Count expected Medellín trips, nights per trip, companion travel and flexible-ticket risk. Do not mix hotel packages into the medical subtotal if one clinic includes lodging and another does not.
The clinic price and the trip price are related but different decisions.
Do not create a fake winner
A side-by-side table can reveal differences. It cannot tell you which medical plan is right for you. That decision belongs with qualified clinicians who understand your case.
Use the comparison to generate better questions and to see where another written answer is needed.
Questions worth sending the clinic
- Are these clinics actually recommending the same treatment pathway?
- Which cost categories are included in one quote but absent from the other?
- Which extra is medically recommended versus optional?
- How many trips does each plan require?
- Which unanswered question could change the total most?
